Pencil sketch of an American city

This was another drawing for a video game.
It was going to be a racing game set in a cyberpunk-ish world,
so this isn't anyplace in particular, but an amalgam of some American cities

Quick sketch on Cardboard

This is just a doodle, done at my desk at work
while waiting for a scene to shoot.
I end up drawing on almost anything available to me
at the time.

Behold.....The nude figure models of Angmar

I took a figure drawing class at the
new Chouinard Institute.
I had gone to CalArts and always heard
the greatness of our forebearers in the field
attending Chouinard. It was a fun experience and my
teacher was Alan Zaslove an old UPA guy
with a bunch of good stories

Behold.....The Dark Elf of Angmar

I did this the other weekend
to use as a title illustration for a story animatic.
This was about 40 minutes from drawing to

Horses and pigs and basketball oh my

I made an earlier post with a lion and an elephant.
This is more from that project a friend of mine
had. I was thinking of Kurt Rambis when
I drew the horse.

Scary Wolf Sketchbook entry......of doom

These are just more random sketches.
I was just trying to think of how to draw
something like a werewolf that does not
rely too much on stuff I have already seen.
Thats a problem with a lot of design in
that we have to make up new and interesting characters
based on old and already viewed ideas.
So for this I was thinking of that type of crocodile
in egypt , that has the really skinny snout.

Edgar Allen Poe and junk

This is a single page from my sketchbook.
I've always love Edward Gorey and
Edgar Allen Poe. Sometimes I think of them
and this is one of those times
(I had a passage from a Poe poem read at my wedding)

Just Random stuff from sketchbook doodles

These were all drawn at different times.
I have an idea to link them all together but
its not too fleshed out yet, so for now
they are just random.

ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!!

The busy part of the last 8 months is I now have
a baby boy! Its awesome being a Dad, and I
did murals for his nursery.
I had one other piece that I copied from Mary Blair, it was
"Its a small World" art work of giraffes.
Obviously she was an influence for the work I did.
These images are photographs taken off the wall in the room,
and I got rid of the wall in photoshop.
I don't have a great camera or light set up so there is some
glare in the artwork.......alas

At Long Last!! A New Post!!!

I've been busy/lazy since April.
So here are some sketches I did while on
a short trip to Santa Barbara.
